Dr. Paul Richard Calderwood

V.W.Bro Dr. Paul Richard Calderwood PGSwdB graduated in History from the University of Leicester in 1969 and then pursued a career in journalism and Public Relations.


In 2010, he was awarded the Norman B. Spencer Prize by Quatuor Coronati Lodge No. 2076, the premier lodge of Masonic research, for his essay on Freemasonry and Architecture in twentieth-century Britain.


In 2011 Dr Calderwood was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy by Goldsmiths, University of London, for his thesis on the history of Freemasonry and the Press.


In 2013, the academic publishers Ashgate Publishing published this substantial book based upon this doctoral thesis.


In the following year he was elected to be a member of Quatuor Coronati Lodge and is currently the Secretary of the Lodge.


He has a number of other publications on masonic history to his credit and articles by Dr Calderwood have been published in The Journal for Research into Freemasonry and Fraternalism, as well as Freemasonry Today and The Square.,
