St. Lawrence the Martyr


This is the first of the five degrees and is a prerequisite for all others. It teaches the importance of integrity, fortitude, and responsibility by recounting the story of St. Lawrence, who sacrificed his life rather than abandoning his principles. The jewel for this degree is a silver gridiron, which hangs from an orange ribbon with royal blue edges.


Knight of Constantinople


This degree focuses on the virtue of humility. The ceremony is described as entertaining, and it teaches a valuable lesson about the relationship between Emperor Constantine and his subjects, emphasizing that all people are equal. Its jewel is a Maltese cross in gold or gilt, suspended from a green ribbon marked with three downward-pointing daggers.


Grand Tilers of Solomon


A dramatic ceremony that takes place in a secret vault beneath the temple, the Grand Tilers of Solomon degree warns against the dangers of hasty judgment. The jewel is a black enamel triangle pointing downward, inscribed with the Hebrew characters for "27" on one side and the "Ineffable Name" on the other. It is suspended from a fiery red ribbon with a pale gray border, featuring a hand holding a dagger and three crowns.


Red Cross of Babylon


This degree is meant to bridge the gap between Craft Masonry and the Holy Royal Arch. It centers on the story of Zerubbabel and his quest to get permission to rebuild the temple, highlighting the supreme importance of truth. The jewel for this degree is a seven-pointed star with two crossed swords on a green enamel circle, hanging from a green ribbon.


Grand High Priest


Often considered the final degree, the Grand High Priest is a special and uplifting ceremony. During the ritual, the candidate is anointed and consecrated to the service of God in the High Priesthood. This degree is unique because of its sacred nature. The jewel is a mitre superimposed on a triangle, made of gold and gilt, and suspended from a red ribbon.
