Louis Arnolphe

Bro. Dr Louis Arnolphe is a French academic and Freemason. He was regularly initiated in
Grande Loge Nationale Française (GLNF) about a decade ago and later became a member of
the high grades of the Rite Écossais Ancien et Accepté in the Suprême Conseil National de
France (SCNDF). He holds an MSt and a DPhil in History from the University of Oxford
(Keble
College).
He has already published two Masonic books in French (2022, 2024) with MdV Éditeur, plus
a paper in Vol. 137 (2024) of Ars Quatuor Coronatorum (AQC). As of March 2026, his first
Masonic monograph in English has appeared with Macoy US, and it is now distributed
through Lewis Masonic in the UK for all those interested in the French influence on
Freemasonry.
His main research interests are the French’s so-called “red (high-grade) Masonry”, as opposed
to “blue (Craft) Masonry”, the legend of Heredom, the American/York ritual and the medieval
times. He lives in Paris, France, and enjoys playing fencing (Sabre) in his spare time.
