John Reuther

John Reuther was raised and educated in Islington, North London, before qualifying as a Biomedical Scientist at the Royal London Hospital. Subsequently gained a Master's degree in Medical Microbiology at the University of Surrey and a Doctorate in the Faculty of Medicine at St Thomas' Hospital. Most of his working career has been in medical microbiology within the Public Health Laboratory Service NHS and was until recently a Visiting Senior lecturer in the Department of Biosciences at the University of Kent, Canterbury as well as the Laboratory Manager in Medical Microbiology in the East Kent Hospital Trust.

Joined Freemasonry in 1973 in the Province of Essex and has since been appointed Senior Warden in the Province of East Kent in 1999 and Junior Grand Deacon in Grand Lodge in 2013. A keen lecturer in the history of Freemasonry he received the award of Cornwallis Lecturer in 2003.

 He became a Trustee of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution in 2006 and was appointed Deputy President in 2013.

John is married to Maggie and they live in East Kent. They have three sons and 4 grandchildren.
